We can help you find a contractor to build a brick, concrete, stamped concrete, concrete, or a flagstone patio in Northern Virginia. Northern Virginia contractors also has contrctors that build all types of exposed aggregate, and colored concrete patios. We also work with flagstone walkways, brick walkways, and interlocking concrete paver walkways. Our contractor teams work with all types of masonry landscaping products.

The first step in building a patio or walkway is to get the grade right. When the grade is right, forms are set up for the customer's approval. When the forms are set and approved, our contractors order a 3500 psi concrete mix that will be installed into the forms. When pouring the concrete patio base it is important that the grade is ¼" per foot to move the water away from your home. Brick comes in hundreds of colors, shapes, and sizes. There are two main types of bricks: face brick and pavers. Face brick have vertical holes in the interior. This is so that setting mortar will partially fill them as they are tamped and leveled. This locks the bricks together. It also makes tamping and leveling easier. Paver bricks are made of the same material as face brick but are solid brick all the way through. Pavers are used for walks, patios, driveways, and other outdoor landscaping projects.

Many homeowners choice is Pennsylvania irregular or cut flagstone for their patio project. Our contractors start by installing a 4" concrete base and then installing the flagstone using a mixture of Portland cement and sand. These are other choices for flagstone other than Pennsylvania such as premium cut blue, Tennessee buff flagstone, and travertine marble paver stone. There is no permit required for a flagstone patio on grade in all of Northern Virginia's Counties. If your plans call for an elevated patio or your patio has stairs leading up to a patio door your contractor will need to pull a building permit. Many home owners want to add features to their patio such as an outdoor kitchen, seating walls, or a water feature these items can all be designed into your new flagstone patio project. Often time's clients want a company to install outdoor lighting on their new flagstone patio.

Very few homes in Northern Virginia have true stonewalls. In most cases what seems like stone construction is actually a stone veneer. There are two types: natural and manufactured concrete stone. Natural stones come in an unlimited types, styles and colors. They are delivered on pallets that usually weigh one to one and a half tons depending on the stone type 's thickness may cover 75 to 90 sq. ft. The final installation of sizes, color, texture is often random in nature. Our contractors using natural stone must be prepared for unexpected variations in colors and sizes. Manufactured stones have the advantage of homogeneity. The styles, colors, textures are reliable. Specific patterns may be used in manufactured stones. This factor makes them somewhat more desirable to many homeowners. It looks more traditional, solid, and expensive in our mind. Adding a stone veneer to just the front of your home can enhance the perception of its value. Stone or brick on the front of a house, with vinyl siding on the other walls can instantly make an old house look new, stronger, and more expensive than neighboring properties.
